The Ball of the Wild
Meet Cooper... a Mini Goldendoodle, and his ball of the wild! He’s one of a fun group we call the “Wishing Well Dogs”, affectionately coined for our neighbourhood, and the name of the park where we congregate. But on this snowy Family Day in February, we met for the first time at our local golf course, where I was asked to bring my trusty Nikon mirrorless camera, to capture the freedom on the dog’s faces as they ran amok on the barren fairways. The dogs were particularly excited about the new environment with their best pals, and although Cooper was the smallest of the pack, he was by far the most animated!
Otis
For the love of Labrador puppies! This is Otis. A Black Lab puppy just six months old at the time I took this photo. He's one of the dozen or so dogs belonging to a fun group of dog-owner-friends in our neighbourhood we call the Wishing Well Dogs, affectionately coined for our community, and the name of the park where we congregate. But on this snowy Family Day in February, we met for the first time at our local Tam O'Shanter golf course. The dogs were particularly excited about the new environment with their old friends, and in this single moment, little Otis suddenly went from the adorable inquisitor, to the mighty ruler. This photo was also awarded with an Honourable Mention in the 2021 Neil Dankoff International Photography Competition - Children/Pets Category. By coincidence, a photo I shot this same day of one of Otis's play pals, Cooper, won 1st Place in the same competition.
Autumn
This is Autumn, one of the most exuberant of our Wishing Well Dog Group buddies running free in the snow this special day at the barren local golf course here in Toronto.
Hugo - White Lab in Winter
Meet Hugo!... our 8 -month-old White Lab puppy. He’s one of a fun group we call the “Wishing Well Dogs”, affectionately coined for our neighbourhood, and name of the park where we congregate. But on this snowy Family Day in February, we met for the first time at our local golf course, where I was asked to bring my trusty Nikon mirrorless camera, to capture the freedom on the dog’s faces as they ran amok on the barren fairways. The dogs were particularly excited about the new environment with their best pals, and Hugo did his part as the peacekeeper of the pack, as his nature forbids anythiing remotely less than happiness from his dog pals and people alike.
Goldun
This is Goldun, also known in competition as Hollywoodwhodunnit, the paternal dun quarter horse stallion of the farm. This guy was the sire of the three beautiful quarter horses I shot that day, each with their own incredible personality, and adored by each other as you'd see in any close family.
Willie
Meet Willie, a quarter horse as gentle as he is fiery. When a friend of mine invited me to photograph his stallions, I jumped at the chance. This guy was just one of three beautiful quarter horses I shot that day, and each one of them had their own incredible personality and loved the attention my camera seemed to bring them.
